My son and I have been creating custom items from wood ever since he was 7 (he's 13 now!) but it wasn't until a close friend of mine said "Wow, you're really good at this - I bet you could sell these things..." - that was Christmas 2001 and the rest is history.
Where are you located?
My family and I are all born and raised Chicagoans and we live "happily ever after" in the southwest suburbs of this fine city. If you'd like to check distance or shipping our zipcode is 60457.
I have a teenager as well, does your son really help you?
Not unlike many teenagers his age my son appreciates a well spent afternoon doing nothing at all. However I am proud to say that when I need to help (which is more often lately) he is eager to lend a hand.
How long does it take for you to build something for me?
I work with wood because I love to and if you would like to support my hobby I am happy to let you but I do have a day job just like most folks. That said I try to speed things along by having parts for some of the more popular items cut already so all that is left is assembly and finishing. On average it takes about 3-4 days of evenings to complete an order.
Are your cornhole / bean bag sets really hand painted?
Absolutely. Unlike some other sites our sets are painstakingly painted entirely by hand. We believe in providing the best quality that we can which is why we believe that our customers come to us because they appreciate the difference.
I don't see exactly what I am looking for, can you still make it?
In all likelyhood the answer is yes. Our sets can be custom painted - if you can provide the artwork I can supply an estimate. If there is something else you would like to inquire about having built just drop me a line using the 'Contact Us' link.
Why should I buy from you?
We believe in providing the highest quality product and ensuring absolute customer satisfaction. If you place and order with me and are not absolutely satisfied I will do everything I can to make it right. Oh and we do sell the best bags sets in the business - period.
What type of payments do you accept?
We currently only accept PayPal for on-line payments. The good news is that you don't need a PayPal account and can use virtually any major credit card.
Do you deliver?
If you happen to live somewhere in the Chicago metropolitan area (or one of the many surrounding suburbs), up to 50 miles away, we can absolutely deliver. All we ask is that you help us out by covering our expenses (which is usually around $15).
What if I'd prefer to pick up my item(s) myself?
Local pickup is certainly an option that we would happily consider. If this is something you are interested in just send us an e-mail (using the 'Contact Us' link) and we'll try to work something out. In fact most of our customers choose this option and all of them are amazed at the quality when they get here.
Why are the prices of your bean bag sets different from one another?
Frankly the more difficult the design the more time it takes to create and that contributes to cost. Lettering, while really cool looking, takes time to do by hand and get right. Complex images as well, the more colors the longer it takes. We strive for quality and the only way to can ensure that is to take our time - and as they say, time is money.
What type of wood do you use to make your boards?
We use a combination of knot-free select pine for the "sides" of the boxes and a very high quality piece of exterior grade MDO (medium-density overlay) plywood for the faces. The knot-free pine is mitred at the corners and held together using nails, glue and biscuits (little wooden 'footballs') for strength. The MDO top is perfectly smooth and all of our corners are rounded.
What are your bean bags made out of?
Our bags are made from 100% duck canvas and filled with a weather resistant material so it's ok if they get wet. Also, unlike corn, our bag filler doesn't breakdown over time causing the bags to release dust and loose some weight.
